Femininity doesn’t need saving. It doesn’t need to be rebranded, reclaimed, or explained. It doesn’t need to prove it’s strong, or useful, or fair. In this work, femininity appears without apology — curved, quiet, self-contained. Not soft, not fierce. Just present. And that’s enough.

This hand-painted ceramic art tray with female portrait is a one-off sculptural piece crafted in the HFP Studio. It began with a single gesture: a slab of clay, shaped by hand — not measured, not corrected. The entire form was sealed in a clear coat of epoxy to preserve its original edgework and protect against impact.
The figure of the girl on its surface is not an embellishment, but a complete painting. It was created through a direct blend of underglaze and glaze, applied while the clay was still raw. This method cannot be reproduced or printed. The image is fused into the ceramic — not laid on top, but built into its body.
A one-off piece from the studio, made to exist quietly in space — to hold small things, hang on a wall, or nothing at all.
